Definition

Synchronized skating teams consist of 8-20 members performing elements in unison. Programs are judged on technical difficulty, creative precision of movements, etc. Most synchronized skaters are also ice dancers or freestyle skaters.

New for the 2008-2009 season:

The University of Wisconsin Synchronized Skating Team will be fielding two teams competing in the senior and open collegiate divisions.

Team Descriptions

Senior

The senior team offers a more intense synchro experience for skaters interested in being involved in competitive synchronized skating. The senior team will have a short and long program and compete with 16 skaters during each program. Skaters competing on the senior team must have passed the novice moves-in-the-field test.

Open Collegiate

The open collegiate team is a more recreational team open to all skaters interested in skating and competing with a synchro team. The open collegiate team will consist of 8-16 skaters. There is no minimum test requirement to skate on the open collegiate team.
